'Some mentally deranged employees are basic problem of this firm': KSRTC CMD apologizes to public

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The shocking incident of violence by KSRTC staff towards a father and daughter who came to the KSRTC station to renew the concession left a bad impression on the transport corporation. Four employees were suspended following the assault against a father in front of his daughter. The High Court has also sought an urgent report on the incident.

Aryanad unit station master A Muhammed Sharif, Kattakkada depot duty guard SR Suresh Kumar, conductor N Anil Kumar and assistant CP Milan Dorich were suspended based on the preliminary report.

Premanan (53) of Grireshma House in Amachal's Kuchappuram, who suffered injuries in the attack by the staff, is undergoing treatment at the Kattakkada Social Health Centre. Premanan is the clerk of Poovachal panchayat.

Meanwhile, KSRTC CMD Biju Prabhakar has apologized to the public for the incident. In a Facebook post, the KSRTC CMD said that the fundamental problem of the institution is the very few mentally deranged employees like the ones involved in the incident, and the instructions given by the government are to uproot such weeds.

"A student and her father, who came to renew their travel concession at Kattakkada unit, had to face a very bitter experience at the time when most of the issues in the institution were resolved and were on the right path despite severe crises... I apologize to the public on behalf of this institution and other good employees for such a hardship that the girl and her father had to face from the said KSRTC employees. ..everyone should understand that very few mentally deranged employees like the ones involved in this incident are the fundamental problem of this institution... Such people will not be protected or tolerated by the management under any circumstances... This is the stand of Hon'ble Transport Minister Mr. Anthony Raju and government. The government has given instructions to uproot such weeds.", Biju Prabhakar said in Facebook post.
