THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has nabbed two people with 23 kg of heroin worth Rs 158 crore in Balaramapuram. The arrested persons have been identified as Santosh Lal, a native of Sreekariyam, and Ramesh, a native of Thirumala. They were arrested after constant surveillance based on secret information.
DRI officials said that the heroin, which was shipped from Harare in Zimbabwe to Mumbai, was brought to Thiruvananthapuram by train. The officials are suspecting that there are international links behind the smuggling.
