NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), in its report, has claimed the Popular Front of India (PFI) had conspired to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As per the charge sheet, the plan was to assassinate Modi during a rally held in July this year. This is stated in the remand report of Shafeeq P, who was arrested by the ED on Thursday from Kerala after a nationwide raid.

106 Popular Front workers were arrested following raids by central agencies at 93 centres in 15 states on Thursday. The raid was carried out by the ED, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the state police. The inspection was conducted in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, Bihar and Manipur.

The NIA's remand report has raised serious allegations against the PFI as it claims the organization conspired to engage in illegal activities, encouraged youths to join terrorist organizations, prepared hit lists targeting prominent leaders, and secretly communicated about crimes. The remand report claims that important documents and digital devices were recovered from the arrested persons.
