Cartoon Network was a channel that excited our childhoods. Once the kids returned from school, they used to glue to the TV sets to watch Cartoon Network. The channel was the favorite of the 90s kids. But now reports are saying that the channel is going to be shut down.

Ted Turner began Cartoon Network on 1 October 1992. This channel is the American cable television of Warner Bros.

In April, David Zaslav became the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery. Since then he has been promising to cut down $3 billion from the company. There are fears that this trimming might destroy the Cartoon Network.

Last day, reports came in about a merger between Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studio. Following it 82 employees of Warner Bros TV Group’s scripted, unscripted, animation division were laid off. It was after this report that the fake news that Cartoon Network will be shut down began spreading.

RIP Cartoon Network Hashtags began trending on Twitter soon after. However, Warner Bros. has come out to clarify that Cartoon Network won’t be shut down.

There are reports that Warner Bros Television is looking for new talents and that they are revamping their business model.
