Renowned poet and novelist TP Rajeevan passes away

KOZHIKODE: Renowned poet, novelist and screenwriter TP Rajeevan (63) has passed away. He died in a private hospital in Kozhikode. He was undergoing treatment for kidney and liver ailments.

Rajeevan was born in 1959 in Paleri, Kozhikode district. He spent his childhood in his mother's place Kottur and his father's place Paleri. He wrote his first novel 'Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha' related to Paleri. His second novel was KTN Kottur.

Rajeevan's poems written in Malayalam and English have been translated into various languages. He used to write poems and articles in English under the name of Thachampoyil Rajeevan.

His major works are Vathil, Rashtratamtram, Korithachanal, Vayalkkarayil Ippolillatha, Pranayasatakam, Purappettu Poya Vakku, Athe Akasam Athe Bhoomi, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha and KTN Kottor: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum.
