Hometown bids adieu to Mohammed Hakeem killed in encounter with Maoists, wife, daughter salute jawan

PALAKKAD: The hometown bid a tearful adieu to CRPF jawan Mohammed Hakeem, who lost his life in an encounter with the Maoists in Chhattisgarh. When his body was kept at the Dhoni Ummini School in Palakkad for a public homage, his wife Ramseena and daughter Afsin Fatima gave him a last salute. The body was laid to rest at the juma masjid with official honours.

Jawan Mohammed Hakeem of Dhoni in Palakkad, died in an encounter with the Maoists at Sukuma in Chhattisgarh. Hakeem was the head constable with CRPF’s special operation unit COBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action). His body brought in CRPF’s special flight from Chhattisgarh reached home last night. The body was kept in his house till 8 am this morning and then at the school. He was laid to rest at the juma masjid after the guard of honour by the state government and CRPF.
