THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala, which began the first techno park in the country, is now starting the first digital science park for digital studies and research for industrial purpose.
It will become a reality in three years. The park will come up at the 14 acres beside the Digital University campus at Mangalapuram. The cost of the park will be Rs.1500 crores.
The Cabinet gave its nod yesterday. Rs.200 is also allowed to develop the basic infrastructure.
Digital science park cannot be found much in the world. It will help bring in foreign investments and also help the IT industry.
The park will be the industrial development of the Digital University. Small scale and medium sized companies and experts will get space in the park. Importance will be given to artificial intelligence, block chain, medical electronics, medical materials, biotechnology electronics hardware, cyber security, and digital experience theater.
The detailed plan report and estimate of the basic infrastructure of the 14 acre land will be prepared. Once the approval is received, the tender procedures will begin.
