Demand for lemons and guavas surges as Covid cases rise in China, sharp rise in medicines for fever, pain killers

Reports say that in Beijing and Shanghai, where the spread of Covid is severe, their sales have increased enormously. The report stated that people are using these as a natural remedy as Covid vaccine is not available. Along with this, the demand for food items containing vitamin C is also increasing. The campaign that foods containing vitamin C can fight against Covid is behind this. However, health experts said this has not been scientifically confirmed yet. Medicines for fever and pain killers are the most in demand after fruits.

With the lifting of restrictions, Covid is rising in China. International media released visuals of bodies piling up in hospitals and cemeteries. However, since the government has not released the clear figures about the spread of Covid or the number of deaths, the concern is increasing. With the worsening of the situation in China, other countries have also taken precautionary measures. The spread is severe in Japan, America and the Republic of Korea.

The media reported that China has been hit hard by the sudden shift away from the zero-covid policy, but authorities are hiding the correct information. Images of long queues at cemeteries, overcrowding at hospitals and piles of corpses are circulating on social media in China.

Reports that came first said the covid explosion was centered in Beijing. All major parts of the country are under the grip of Covid presently. The rising death toll is also evident from the number of obituaries published by a university to commemorate employees who have recently died due to Covid-19.
