LUCKNOW: With Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra about to enter Uttar Pradesh, Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of the Ramjanmabhoomi temple has sent a letter to the Congress leader extending his support.

"I hope and pray that the mission for which you are fighting may be successful. I bless you for your long life. You are working for the noble cause, which is for the happiness of the many, for the welfare of the many, in the interest of people and for their happiness. I wish the blessings of Lord Rama be upon you always," the priest said in the letter.

Ayodhya District Spokesperson of the Congress Party, Sunil Krishna Gautam, said that the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple wanted to participate in the yatra, but could not do so due to health reasons. "He gave his moral support to this journey through the letter, and the priest even termed the yatra to be right and timely", he added.

After a gap of nine days, Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed in Delhi on Tuesday. The yatra will enter Uttar Pradesh this evening before leaving for Jammu and Kashmir via Himachal Pradesh. On the demand of Congress leaders, police security has been increased for the yatra.
