THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has cancelled the notification to make 100 backdoor appointments at the Kerala Technological University (KTU). The notification was issued on November 8. The governor has ordered to report the vacancies to the Employment Exchange and to appoint qualified people by conducting written exams and interviews.

The governor has also directed KTU Vice Chancellor Prof Ciza Thomas to take action against Registrat DR A Praveen for issuing the notification without the permission of the Vice-Chancellor. Raj Bhavan will issue a show cause notice to the Registrar.

The Technological University has only 57 permanent employees. Although the varsity had demanded to allot 100 assistant posts, the government allotted only 25 posts.
