THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The confiscating procedures of the houses and properties of Popular Front of India (PFI) leaders in the state will continue today. Last day, properties of around 60 people were confiscated in 14 districts. The action follows the ultimatum of the High Court. The land revenue commissioner has given a deadline of 5 pm today to the district collectors to confiscate the properties. The collectors will forward the information about the attachment of property to the government. This will be submitted as a report to the High Court.
The confiscation of the houses and properties of the leaders is to recover compensation for the damages in the lightning hartal conducted by the PFI in September. State General Secretary Abdul Sattar's house and property at Karunagapally, Kollam, and ten cents of land belonging to State Secretary CA Rauf at Pattambi Ongallur were confiscated. PFI's Periyar Valley Trust Campus, which operates in 68 cents in Aluva, was also confiscated. Attachment procedures were carried out in 16 places in Palakkad and 14 in Wayanad. Properties of six leaders in Idukki, three in Pathanamthitta and two in Alappuzha were confiscated. A notice was served to 16 people in Kozhikode. There were no objections or other problems anywhere.
