BATHUMI: Indian chess prodigy Divya Deshmukh made history by reaching the final of the Women's World Cup Chess Championship in Georgia. 19-year-old Divya became the first Indian woman to reach the final of the Chess World Cup. Divya created history by defeating her Chinese rival Tan Zhongyi, who is rated higher than her, in the second game of the semi-final, which took 101 moves. The two tied in the first game of the semi-final.

Meanwhile, the second game of the semi-final between Indian player Koneru Humpy and Chinese player Lei Tingjie also ended in a draw. They agreed to a draw in 75 moves on Tuesday. A tiebreaker will be held today to determine who Divya's opponent will be in the final.
