LONDON: India has won its second medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games. Weightlifter Gururaja Poojary has clinched the bronze medal in the men's 61kg category. He finished in the third position in the men's final as he lifted a total weight of 269 kg. Malaysia's Aznil bin Bidin Muhammad won the gold and Papua New Guinea's Morea Baru won the silver.

Earlier, weightlifter Sanket Sargar opened India's account at the Commonwealth Games 2022 by winning a Silver medal with a combined lift of 248 kg in the Men's 55 kg final.
