Reckless driving by private buses causes collision in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Private buses were allegedly involved in racing and reckless driving in the city centre on Friday, causing panic among passengers. Green buses operating on the Feroke–Medical College route were seen competing with each other and allegedly engaging in deliberate collisions.

The incident occurred at Mananchira in Kozhikode while both buses were carrying a large number of passengers. One of the Green buses rammed into a Keerthana bus operating on the same route. The impact pushed the Keerthana bus into another bus that was parked nearby, resulting in further damage.

Binoj, the owner of the Keerthana bus, said the incident stemmed from a dispute related to the sale of his bus. He alleged that the Green bus driver deliberately hit his vehicle after he refused to sell it at a lower price. Binoj has filed a complaint with the Town Police, seeking action against those responsible.
