KUWAIT CITY: A fire broke out in the flat housing employees of a company owned by a Malayali in Kuwait. Reports said the fire has claimed the lives of six people. The building is occupied by the employees of the NBTC company in Mangaf Block 4. The building is owned by Malayali businessman K G Abraham. Majority of the people living here are Malayalees.
The fire broke out at around 4 am today. The death toll is likely to rise. The condition of six people being treated at Adan, Jabar and Mubarak hospitals is critical. Many people are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. There were people who jumped from the top floor after seeing fire on the ground floor.
The fire spread from the kitchen of the labor camp. Although the fire was brought under control, many are reported to be trapped inside the building.
