RAWALPINDI: Reports that former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was killed in jail. The Balochistan Foreign Ministry has alleged that Imran Khan was brutally tortured and killed. In a statement, Balochistan pointed out that Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Army Chief Asim Munir were behind the murder. However, there has been no official confirmation of the reports.
Pictures of a crowd gathered outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Imran Khan is being held, are being widely circulated on social media. It is also alleged that Imran Khan's sisters and other family members are not being permitted to enter the jail. This has increased suspicions that he may have been killed. "If this information is confirmed to be true, it marks the absolute end of terrorist Pakistan Balochistan," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Baluchistan said in an X-post. The post also warned that "the collapse of its last remaining legitimacy will begin the moment the truth is exposed to the world."
The Pakistani government or prison authorities have not commented on ''Imran Khan's death". 73-year-old Imran Khan has been in prison since 2023 after being convicted in a corruption case. Imran Khan had said in July that he was being tortured in prison. He had also told party workers that Army Chief Asim Munir would be responsible if anything happens to him. Rumours had spread last May that Imran Khan had been killed. However, Pakistan's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had issued a press release saying that the news was false.
