ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has admitted that a Pakistani air base was damaged in Operation Sindoor. Ishaq Dar revealed that the strategic Noor Khan air base, which was targeted by the Indian army in May 2025, was damaged in Operation Sindoor. His confession was made at a press conference on December 27.
Ishaq Dar confirmed that India had launched a drone strike targeting the Noor Khan airbase in Rawalpindi. India had sent 80 drones in 36 hours. 79 of them were shot down and one drone crashed into the airport, causing damage, claimed Pakistan. He also said that personnel at the airbase were injured in the attack.
India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, in which 26 Indians were killed. On the morning of May 8, India destroyed about nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. On May 10, India also attacked 11 air bases, including Noor Khan.
