Mohanlal in new avatar again, announces release date of new film amidst Empuraan controversies

KOCHI: The release date of the film ‘Thudarum' directed by Tarun Murthy and starring Mohanlal and Shobhana in the lead roles has been announced. The film will hit the theaters on April 24. It will be Mohanlal's second film to hit the theaters after Prithviraj’s Empuraan.

The trailer of the film was released recently. It is clear from the trailer that it will be a suspense film. The trailer indicates that the movie tells the story of the bond between his black ambassador car and Shanmukham.

The film will see Mohanlal and Shobana together after 20 years. The last time they acted together was in the movie Sagar Alias ​​Jackie Reloaded released in 2009. Mohanlal plays the role of an ordinary taxi driver in the movie, which falls under the family drama category. Other casts include Maniyan Pilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Farhan Faasil, Thomas Mathew, Arsha Chandni, Baiju, Irshad and others.

Tarun Murthy and K R Sunil jointly scripted the film. Shaji Kumar wields camera for the film. Sound is by Vishnu Govind and the film is produced by M Ranjith under the banner of Rajputra Visual Media. The song from the film, which starts with 'Katha Thudarum’, was released recently. The music of the song, composed by Jex Bejoy, has lyrics by B K Harinarayanan. The song is by Hariharan and Gokul Gopakumar.
