Mohanlal to star in Dileesh Pothan-Syam Pushkaran film, shooting to begin this year

Mohanlal will play the lead role in a new film directed by Dileesh Pothan. Antony Perumbavoor will produce the film under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. The screenplay is written by Syam Pushkaran, and shooting is planned to begin by the middle of this year. This marks the first time Mohanlal, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran are coming together for a project. The film is said to belong to the action fantasy drama genre. An official announcement is expected soon.

Notably, this will be the first time Dileesh Pothan is directing a film starring a superstar. He is best known for directing Fahadh Faasil–led films such as Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, and Joji.

Dileesh Pothan has also made his mark as an actor and producer. Meanwhile, Mohanlal, who recently completed cameo roles in Kathanaar and Khalifa, is currently on a private visit to Sydney and is expected to return in a few days.

Mohanlal’s next acting project will be a film directed by Tharun Moorthy. Shooting for the film will begin on January 23 in Thodupuzha, with Meera Jasmine playing the female lead. Bhama Arun, Binu Pappu, and Eshad are among the other cast members. The script was ceremonially placed for pooja at the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple yesterday. The film is produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions. The story is written by Ratheesh Ravi, with cinematography by Shaji Kumar.
