
KOCHI: India's gross domestic product (GDP) grew at 7.8 percent in the third quarter of the current fiscal, beating expectations. Analysts had estimated that the growth would reach 7.4 percent.
The GDP growth rate in the second quarter from July to September was 8.4 percent. With this, the growth estimate for the current financial year has increased from 7.1 percent to 7.6 percent. This is the first GDP estimate according to the new series, which has been revised to the base year 2022-23. The GDP growth rate in the same period last year was 7.4 percent. Till now, the GDP growth rate was determined according to the series based on 2011-12.
