Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray vacates official residence, returns to his home 'Matoshri'

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has vacated his official residence amid a political crisis raised by rebel Shiv Sena MLAs in the state. Uddhav Thackeray and his family left 'Versha Bungalow', the official residence, and returned to their home 'Matoshri'. Activists gave an emotional farewell to the Chief Minister by showering him with flowers.

Meanwhile, it is learned that more rebel MLAs have reached Guwahati. A report claimed that four Shiv Sena MLAs arrived in Guwahati in a chartered plane. The political crisis in Maharashtra erupted following the rebellion of a section of Shiv Sena MLAs led by Minister Eknath Shinde. Eknath Shinde, who is in Guwahati, claimed the support of 46 MLAs, including seven independents. Following this, Uddhav Thackeray went live on Facebook and expressed his readiness to resign as Chief Minister. He announced his readiness to resign after a meeting with MLAs of the official wing.
