Narendra Modi to reach Kannur at 11.30 am; will visit Wayanad today

KANNUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at the Kannur airport today at 11:30 am on an Air India One flight of the Air Force ahead of his visit to the landslide-hit areas in Wayanad. Following this, Modi will travel to Wayanad in an Air Force helicopter. Union Minister Suresh Gopi will accompany him.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will receive the Prime Minister. Both will accompany the Prime Minister to Wayanad.

Three Air Force copters reached Kannur ahead of Modi's visit. A bullet-proof car and safety gear were also brought to Kannur in a special flight. Vehicles for SPG commandos, mobile jammers etc. were also brought to Kannur.

A high-level meeting chaired by the Collector was held at the airport to review the security arrangements. The Prime Minister will return to Kannur airport at 3.40 pm by helicopter from Wayanad and will return to Delhi at 3.45 pm. The police are preparing heavy security at the airport and on the road.
