SRINAGAR: Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi was suspended temporarily due to a security lapse in Jammu Kashmir. The yatra which was resumed today morning was supposed to complete 20 kilometers today but had to be suspended at one kilometer itself.
On the way to Srinagar while crossing Banihal Tunnel a huge crowd joined the yatra. Rahul Gandhi could not move for 30 minutes. Rahul boarded a security vehicle later and the yatra was suspended temporarily for today. Congress updated that the yatra was canceled due to the lack of necessary security to control the crowd. Congress blamed the Jammu Kashmir government has failed in handling the situation and there was a heavy security lapse, said Congress. Omar Abdullah National Conference party's vice-president and the former chief minister of Jammu Kashmir had joined the yatra at Banihal.
