RSS help not essential for BJP, says Nadda; BJP will ban RSS, says Uddhav

NEW DELHI: National president JP Nadda said that the era of needing help from the RSS has changed and the BJP is now running things on its own. Nadda's response was in an interview given to an English daily.

The response came when questions were raised about the presence of RSS in the party now and when AB Vajpayee was the Prime Minister. "The party was not strong in the beginning. It needed the help of the RSS. Since then, the BJP has grown. Now the party is strong enough to look after its own affairs. The RSS is a social and cultural organization."

"Building a temple in Mathura and Kashi is not in the BJP's plan. BJP has no such desire, idea or plan. Nor has there been any discussion. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma are talking about temple construction as part of their speech style. The Ram temple in Ayodhya was demanded by passing the party resolution. It was included in the party's agenda."

BJP will ban RSS: Uddhav

At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena's Uddhav wing, said that the RSS will be banned if the BJP comes to power for the third time. The plan is to use and throw away RSS like it was done to Shiv Sena. Nadda's words indicate that, Uddav alleged.
