PUNE: In yet another alarming case of death during workouts, a youngster collapsed after sipping water inside a gym in Pune on Friday. 37-year-old Milind Kulkarni died tragically at a gym in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, on Friday morning. CCTV footage of the incident has also been released. The footage shows him drinking water and collapsing after exercising.

Milind was rushed to the hospital by others present in the gym, but his life could not be saved. The postmortem report said that the cause of death was a heart attack. Dr Rejendra Wable, who conducted the postmortem, said that Milind had a 70 per cent blockage, which the youngster might not have been aware of. Milind had been going to the gym for the past six months. His wife is a doctor.

A similar incident took place in Kochi the other day. Raj (42) of Chalappuram, Mulanthuruthi, Perumpilly, collapsed and died at the gym while exercising. Raj collapsed on the floor and was noticed after 20 minutes by those who came to the gym later. He was immediately given CPR and taken to a private hospital, but his life could not be saved.

In recent times, there has been a spike in deaths among youngsters, mostly health freaks. Many fitness trainers blame a lack of proper nutrition, sleep, and excessive anxiety for such cases becoming common. Many also doubt the role of the enigmatic role of COVID-19 vaccines in the recurring tragic deaths of youngsters in the country.
