NEW DELHI: One and a half crore people, including monks, religious leaders and devotees will converge at the Mahakumbh Mela to take a dip in the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and mystical Saraswati rivers. There is one who stands out among the crowd and that is 'IIT Baba'.
A calm smile, a pleasant behaviour, a strong sense of wisdom in words, sparkling eyes.. one will notice Masani Gorakh (Abhay Singh), an IIT Baba. Masani Gorakh is a graduate of Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He then worked for a short time with a high salary but quit later. Realized the divinity and became a monk. He then changed his name from Abhay Singh to Masani Gorakh.
Masani Gorakh said that he has dedicated his life to Lord Shiva. Masani Gorakh is also known by names like Raghav and Jagadish. A native of Haryana, he completed his Masters in Design after four years of study at IIT. He has also worked as a photographer. He had also worked as a physics teacher. Masani Gorakh said that he took philosophy courses on post-modernism, Socrates and Plato to understand the meaning of life.
He doesn't care what others think about his decision. Live by doing things that make you happy. Masani Gorakh said that he took the spiritual path for that.
