Cheats couple of 17 sovereigns of gold and iPhone by promising visa 

THRISSUR: A youth, who is dumb, has been arrested for allegedly cheating a couple, who cannot speak, of 17 sovereigns of gold and an iPhone after promising a visa. Raashid (25) of Perinthallur in Tirur was arrested by the Kunnamkulam police.

He cheated a couple of Manikanteswaram. After establishing friendship with the woman, he cheated her by promising a Gulf visa to her husband. After calling them to Kunnamkulam and making them sign some papers, Raashid took possession of the gold and the phone.

The couple later filed a complaint with the police after realizing that they had been cheated. Raashid was arrested from Ernakulam. He is also an accused in a similar case of stealing six sovereigns of gold from a native of Chalissery.
