KOLLAM: The police have issued a lookout notice for Satheesh Shankar, husband of Athulya, who committed suicide in Sharjah. All efforts are being taken to bring him back to his hometown. Karunagappally ASP Anjali Bhavana, who is in charge of the investigation, said that the lookout notice was issued as part of this. A murder case was registered against Satheesh.
Her body was brought to the state Wednesday morning. A re-postmortem is being conducted at the medical college hospital. The forensic examination results in Sharjah had stated that there was no abnormality in her death. However, a re-postmortem is being conducted as her family alleged mystery in the death. The body will be handed over to her relatives after postmortem and then will be cremated in her house premises today.
Athulya was found hanging at her flat in Sharjah on July 19. Athulya's sister Akhila had filed a complaint with the Sharjah police alleging murder. She handed over the evidence and video of Satheesh Shankar’s continuous harassment to the police. Her relatives alleged that she died due to her husband's harassment. A case was registered against Satheesh under the murder, domestic violence and women harassment acts. He was terminated from his job based on the complaint filed by her relatives and Satheesh's behavior in the videos. He was working as a site engineer in a private company in Dubai.
