KOCHI: The Mattancherry assistant commissioner's investigation report, following actress Archana Kavi's allegation that police misbehaved with her while travelling with friend and family, will be handed over to the city police commissioner today. The incident came to light after the actress wrote on Instagram about it.
The actress did not lodge a complaint but the police conducted an investigation. The intelligence unit handed over the report to the Home Department. Meanwhile, police have denied allegations by actress Archana Kavi that she was mistreated. The policeman said that he had only asked for details during the patrol and had not behaved badly.
The actress said that she was going to Fort Kochi, following which the policeman said she cannot continue if her journey is to the beach. The official said he allowed her to go after she told him that her residence is nearby. The auto driver will be identified and questioned as part of the investigation.
Archana Kavi had told the media that the police treated them as if they were sex workers. "The police stopped the autorickshaw and asked where we are going and why. I asked back why they are enquiring about all this and their replies were harsh", she said.
The actress revealed that the police followed till they went home and she posted on Instagram as she was upset.
