Suspicious of phone call: youth hacks wife to death in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth hacked his wife to death in the capital city following a suspicion. The incident happened at Kalliyur in Thiruvananthapuram. The dead is Bincy living near Kuruttuvila. Her husband Sunil has been taken into custody and is being questioned by the Nemom police. His arrest will be recorded soon.

Sunil hacked her to death last night. Police said Sunil, who came home drunk last night, grew suspicious on her as she was talking to someone on the phone. He then hacked her on her head. The area near her ear was almost split open after being hacked.

When she was not seen outside in the morning, her relatives came in search of her and then found her lying in a pool of blood. She was immediately taken to the nearby Shanthivilla Taluk Hospital, but she had already died by then. The police are also investigating whether there was any other reason behind the murder. Neighbors said the couple used to have arguments and fights were common in the house.
