CHANGANASSERY: NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair said there is no change in his stand in supporting the state government. He clarified that he had made his stand clear on the Sabarimala issue.

‘Had clarified my political stand earlier. Those who wish to protest may continue, but will not change my stand. We have not invited anyone for discussions. There is no change in this stand. It has been clearly stated and everyone had accepted it,' said Nair. He clarified that a new building will be built for the NSS and that changes according to the times should be accepted.

Nair's remarks supporting the government after the Global Ayyappa Sangamam were widely discussed. He openly stated that he had faith in this government and supported the government on the Sabarimala issue. Along with this, he had criticized the UDF and the BJP in harsh language.

Soon after this, Nair was criticized from all corners. Banners were seen against him in Pathanamthitta. The banner said that he stabbed the community from back for his own family and was doing padaseva to Pinarayi. Another banner seeking his resignation was seen at Poonjar in Kottayam.

A four-member family had resigned their membership from NSS in protest against Nair's stand. Gopakumar Sundaran of Changanassery Puzhavathil, his wife Ambili, and their children Akash and Gauri had resigned their memberships.
