THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Wikipedia has triggered a new controversy amid infighting among Congress leaders over the Chief Ministerial position. The controversy broke out after the Wikipedia page of AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal briefly described him as the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala. The description was later removed following criticism.
Meanwhile, K C Venugopal had earlier stated that he is not interested in discussions about the Chief Minister's post. He added that his lack of interest can be interpreted in any way, and those who wish to discuss it may continue to do so.
Earlier, a controversy had also arisen when flex boards describing Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan as the “designated Chief Minister” were put up. These boards were installed in Kaladi Panchayat in Malappuram under the name of the Parappuram group. The message on the boards read, “Greetings to designated Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan.”
Several leaders' names are being discussed within the Congress party for the CM's position. Supporters of these leaders are promoting them through social media campaigns and posters. Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala also recently launched a podcast following his 'Jananayakan' video. The podcast, titled “Kerala Yatra,” presents his life journey starting from his KSU days. Posters with slogans such as “Let RC lead Kerala” are also being circulated.
