497 people in Nipah contact list; ten people under treatment in Malappuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George has informed that there are a total of 497 people on the Nipah contact list in Kerala. 203 in Malappuram district, 114 in Kozhikode, 178 in Palakkad and two in Ernakulam. Ten people are under treatment in Malappuram. One patient is under ICU treatment. So far, 62 samples have tested negative in Malappuram district. Five people are under treatment in isolation in Palakkad. Five people have been discharged.

A total of 14 people in the highest risk category and 82 people in the high risk category are under observation in the state. The central team visited Malappuram and Palakkad districts. A high-level meeting was held under the leadership of Minister Veena George. Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, NHM State Mission Director, Director of the Health Department, Director of the Medical Education Department, Additional Directors, District Collectors, District Medical Officers, Police Officers, and various department officials attended the meeting.
