THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Afan, who has not shown any sign of remorse after committing atrocities, became violent in the hospital. He is being kept in the hospital with his hands tied and both legs tied to the bed after he tried to attack the doctor and police. The accused is under police protection in the medical pay ward. He is also being given sedatives through IV drips.

Blood and urine samples were collected. Since he did not cooperate with the treatment in any way, the samples were collected by making him unconscious. The initial conclusion is that he may be addicted to drugs. However, clarity will come only after the test results come.

As Afan told the police that he had consumed rat poison, the gastric lavage process began on Monday night. Initially, no one could go near him due to his violent tendencies. Despite being handcuffed, he spread terror in the emergency department by kicking, throwing, and shouting. The staff and policemen tied his legs together with a cloth. He was given sedatives and taken to the pay ward. Then his stomach was washed, and the sample was sent for testing. The results will be available today.

He was not given food yesterday on the assumption that he had consumed poison. He is only being given an IV drip. Every time he regains consciousness, he tries to harm others. The results of the test samples cannot identify the presence of all the drugs and intoxicants. Since rat poison works slowly, four days are required to determine what will happen. It would be most dangerous on the fourth day. After washing his stomach, he is also being given anti-poison drugs. Doctors assess that if there is no presence of narcotics, the accused must be suffering from a mental disorder. Those with minor mental problems even would not be able to take this many lives, spilling blood, one after the other, say the doctors. That is why it is concluded that either Afan might have an abnormal mental disorder or else consumed high levels of intoxicating drugs to commit such murders.
