KOCHI: The committee of the film actors' association AMMA was dissolved after complaints of sexual harassment were raised even against the office bearers. After this, many people came forward trolling the organization on social media. Now, the AMMA headquarters office has been put up for sale by some quipsters. Pictures of AMMA's office in Edapally were posted on the online site OLX with the caption 'Urgent Sale' for a price of just Rs 20,000.
The ad says that the 20,000 sqft building has ten washrooms and is in ready-to-move condition. It is also given that the doors lack strength due to constant knocks from people. It is also provided that the sale should be completed within three to four days. It is unclear who posted the ad.
After the information in the Hema committee report came out, there were explosions in AMMA and film workers' organization FEFKA. While the entire AMMA committee was dissolved, Director Ashiq Abu resigned from FEFKA. 'In strong disagreement and protest against the hypocritical leadership, I am hereby resigning from FEFKA primary membership,' Ashiq Abu said in the release.
The Ernakulam District Sessions Court had ordered that actor Mukesh not be arrested till September 3. Meanwhile, circumstantial evidence is strong against Siddique, an actor and former general secretary of AMMA. The police found data that were consistent with the statement of the actress.
The actress had stated that she was assaulted by Jayasurya on the sets of Pigman. The actress said that Jayasurya grabbed her on the way to the bathroom and apologized when he realized that she was not interested.
