KANNUR: CPM Central Committee member EP Jayarajan has revealed in his autobiography ‘Ithanente Jeevitham’ that BJP leader Shobha Surendran had attempted to field his son in the elections. 'Shobha Surendran, who had taken my son's phone number when she met him at a wedding venue, called him several times. I think it was an attempt to make him a candidate in the elections. He did not pick up the phone,' the book says.
'If I even dream of leaving the party, it means I am dead,' EP says in his autobiography about his meeting with Prakash Javadekar. "Shobha Surendran said that I had continuous discussions with BJP leaders. However, I met them only once in my life. That was during Oommen Chandy's funeral. I have not even spoken to them on the phone before or after that. It was P Jayarajan who raised the issue related to the Vaidekam Resort in the state committee. I faced many personal insults as the party leadership was not ready to clarify."
EP Jayarajan also revealed that he had conveyed his difficulties to the central leadership regarding the decision to remove him from the post of LDF convener.
