Car carrying couple attacked in Alappuzha; case against seven Congress activists

ALAPPUZHA: A couple’s car was attacked in Alappuzha by some Congress activists. The incident happened last evening at Charummood in Alappuzha. The Charummood police have registered a case against seven Congress workers on the complaint of the couple.

The Congress had staged a march in Charummood Sunday evening. The march was staged owing allegiance to AICC General Secretary and Alappuzha MP K C Venugopal. The attack was for stopping the car carrying the couple of Pathanapuram on the road where the march was passing. Police said the Congress workers in groups attacked the car. The workers smashed the glasses of the car. The couple then approached the police. The police, who have registered a case in the incident, have not taken anyone into custody.
