THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that the central government did everything for the Indians affected by the Kuwait disaster. The Prime Minister directly intervened and quickly brought the dead bodies home. Muraleedharan also said that the Minister of State for External Affairs travelled on the same flight.
"The Minister of State for External Affairs visited those undergoing treatment in person and made arrangements for specialist treatment. The central government also announced financial assistance. Yet, Pinarayi Vijayan is criticizing the Centre with political gain in mind," Muraleedharan said.
"The central government considers Kerala as a state in India. Pinarayi Vijayan is the one who is trying to create segregation by saying "we and you". The state health minister has nothing to do with going to Kuwait. She cannot make any special intervention there. There is no point in blaming Modi for the stupidity of reaching the airport before getting political clearance," Muraleedharan said.
"Opposition leader V D Satheesan prepared the background music for Veena George's drama without understanding the matter. The opposition leader did not have the courage to say that the Lok Kerala Sabha should be postponed in the wake of the tragedy. One has to show compassion for those affected by the tragedy by being with their relatives. The Chief Minister, who was supposed to attend the funeral of the deceased, went to have dinner with expatriate businessmen. Pinarayi Vijayan has again proved that he has no humanity at all. What benefit did ordinary expatriates get because of the Lok Kerala Sabha?" he added.
