Class two girl falls off scooter, run over by bus in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: In a tragic incident, a class two student died after running over by a bus at Kozhinjampara in the district. The dead is Nafeesath Misriya of St Paul’s English Medium School. The incident happened Monday morning at 9 am in Athicode. The girl fell off her father’s scooter on her way to the school. The bus which came from behind ran over her.

Misriya is the daughter of a couple from Pazhaniyarpalayam in Kozhinjampara. The CCTV footage of the accident has also surfaced. The scooter overturned when the auto in front slowed down. With this, the private bus that was behind ran over her body. The girl’s father immediately took her to a nearby hospital, but there was no facility to provide adequate treatment there.

People on the spot told media that the accident occurred when the scooter tried to overtake the auto in front. When the scooter overturned, the child fell to the right side of the road and the bus that was behind ran over her head. The locals protested following the accident. The locals alleged that accidents happen here due to the pathetic condition of the road.
