Finding foetus in church premises; woman to be questioned again, say police

KOZHIKODE: The police said there is a mystery in finding a foetus of six months' growth in the premises of the church. 25-year-old Franco of Kozhinjampara abandoned the foetus and fled. She is under treatment in the hospital.

The woman gave birth on a Tamil Nadu registration bus carrying a pilgrimage group. The bus then stopped near the church. The woman gave a statement to the police that she suddenly started labor pains and left the foetus in the church and fled because she was scared. The police said the woman's statement is not trustworthy. The police are also investigating their family background. The police identified the woman by examining the CCTV footage. The police said Franco is married and is a mother of a child. The police also clarified that she will be questioned again.
