assembly

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The assembly session will be adjourned to discuss the solar issue. Nod was given for the discussion after accepting the demand on the notice of an adjournment motion moved by MLA Shafi Parambil following the CBI report that there was a conspiracy to trap former chief minister Oommen Chandy in the solar sexual assault case. The discussion will be from 1 pm to 3 pm.

In the notice moved by Shafi Parambil, the chief minister replied that the government do not have the CBI report related to the matter. A reply cannot be given based on speculations. Therefore, he informed the assembly that the issue can be discussed. The Speaker then gave permission for a two-hour discussion on the adjournment motion.

The CBI report said that there was a conspiracy to trap former chief minister Oommen Chandy in the solar sexual harassment case. The CBI found that Oommen Chandy's name was written later in the letter issued in the name of the complainant and this was a false allegation made by the complainant for financial gain. The report said MLA K B Ganesh Kumar, his relative Saranya Manoj and controversial broker T G Nandakumar intervened for it.
