Flooding: Funeral held in middle of road

THIRUVALLA: The funeral of a Congress booth president was held on the approach road of Ayyanaveli Bridge due to flooding. The funeral ceremony of PC Kujunmon (72), who died three days ago due to suffocation, was conducted yesterday afternoon at Chakkulathukavil House. Vengel, a part of Upper Kuttanad, and nearby areas have been affected by floods for days. Last Thursday, due to severe suffocation, his relatives took him to the hospital with great difficulty through the submerged area, but he died. His body was kept in Pushpagiri Medical College Mortuary in the hope that the floods would recede. Yesterday, the body was brought to Vengal in an ambulance and was brought to the place where the funeral ceremony took place. After a public viewing on the bridge, cremation was done on the approach road with the help of a gas-powered crematorium. Son Sunilkumar died two weeks ago due to heart disease. Pennama is the wife.
