Four-day old body found in Maradu flat; serious head injuries, legs fractured

KOCHI: A body of a middle-aged man was found lying on the ground after falling from an abandoned building in Maradu. The body is that of Subhash (51) of Puthenkurish. His ID card, bedsheet and a bag were found on top of the building. The body is reported to be four days old. There is a serious injury on the back of his head and fractures on his legs. The police have concluded that he died after falling from top of the building.

Subhash's sister is in Maradu. Her husband has identified the body. Subhash had visited his sister a month ago. He has the habit of leaving home occasionally. It is believed that Subhash lived on top of an abandoned building in Maradu. A liquor bottle and glass were found from here. The construction of this building was abandoned halfway after a slight slope was found due to a construction defect. The people who came for fishing in the backwaters found the body. On being informed, the police reached the spot. The body was shifted to Ernakulam General Hospital.
