ALAPPUZHA: The body of an elderly man was exhumed from the grave following a complaint of mystery surrounding his death. The body of Yesudas (74) of Chengannur was taken out from the grave to conduct postmortem. The grave in Puliyur Orthodox Church cemetery was opened.
Yesudasan died on March 20. His expatriate daughter-in-law Leena filed a complaint alleging mystery in his death. She also alleged that Yesudasan's brother Gabriel tried to usurp his property. She also alleged that Yesudasan was weak after vomiting and that his body was dark blue in colour. Moreover, Leena said they failed to inform her or the dead’s daughter who is abroad and other relatives while taking him to the hospital.
Leena alleged that the death happened 90 days after all the properties in Yesudasan's name were registered in Gabriel's name. She said that Gabriel kicked them out of the house after his death and that a housemaid had signed a document as witness. Leena alleged that Yesudasan developed uneasiness after eating the cake made by the housemaid. She also said that they suspect that he died after consuming poison.
Yesudasan has a son and a daughter. His son had died in 2017. His daughter is in the UK. Leena told media that his daughter in the UK also has a complaint about her father's death. Following that, filed a complaint with the Chengannur police.
