Govt vehicles to be registered under 'KL 90', KSRTC to continue as KL 15

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special registration series will be implemented for government vehicles from now on. The government vehicles will be registered under KL 90. State government vehicles will be registered as KL 90 and KL-90D. Meantime, central government vehicles will be registered under KL 90A and KL 90E. The vehicles for local bodies will be registered under KL 90B and KL 90F.

Vehicles for semi government firms, boards, corporations and various universities will be registered under KL 90C. After that, registration will be KL 90G. However, the present registration for KSRTC will remain unchanged. It will continue as KL-15. The new step is to quickly identify government vehicles and prevent private vehicles from traveling with the board saying ‘Govt vehicle’. The draft notification states that when these are sold to private individuals for any reason, the registration must be changed.
