THRISSUR: The Thrissur West police have registered a case against the BJP on the complaint of distributing kits by the BJP for votes. The case has been registered by making Radhakrishnan, who ordered the kits, as the first accused. Sections under the Representation of the People Act have also been charged against him. The election flying squad seized 26 kits worth Rs 900 from Karthika Supermarket in Olari during a search conducted on the basis of the complaint.

The CPM activists said that around fifty people bought the kits from Karthika Supermarket in Olari, Thrissur. The kit containing 18 items has been seized. The CPM also alleged that the women came to buy the kits on the advice of Radhakrishnan, a local BJP leader.

Meantime, former minister V S Sunil Kumar responded that the elections are being sabotaged by giving money, liquor and kits. The BJP is repeating what the party did in 2024. A blatant election violation has been committed. The supermarkets are influencing capitalists. VS Sunil Kumar alleged that central leaders are coming with money in box.

However, the shopkeeper said that the kit was prepared for Vishu by a person named Radhakrishnan. The kits are kept behind the supermarket. The shopkeeper said that out of the 75 kits set, 50 were taken away. The supermarket was closed following the incident.
