KOCHI: A passenger was brutally assaulted by staff on a KSRTC fast passenger bus that was travelling from Muvattupuzha to Kottayam. The incident reportedly began over a dispute involving an old Rs 100 note given as ticket fare. It took place at Koothattukulam around 10:30 am yesterday.

The conductor initially tried to force the passenger to get off the bus, but he refused. Following this, both the driver and conductor allegedly beat him. Other passengers protested against the staff’s actions. Local shopkeepers, who rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion, intervened. After this, the bus continued its journey with the passenger on board.
