KOZHIKODE: The police have stated that they will soon arrest the doctors responsible including the culprits, in the case where Harsheena's stomach was allegedly pierced with scissors during a delivery operation. Kozhikode Medical College's Assistant Commissioner, K Sudarshan who is leading the investigation mentioned that while Harsheena is the complainant both the health department and the government are committed to ensuring justice is served. The police have uncovered that the incident occurred during Harsheena's third surgery at Kozhikode Medical College. Despite the medical board rejecting the police report the authorities are determined to continue with the investigation. The police have expressed their determination in overcoming legal obstacles for making arrests and are resolute in their efforts. A C Sudarshan assured Kerala Kaumudi that he will not yield to any pressure.

On the 8th of this month, the medical board convened based on the police report which implicated four individuals including two doctors in the case. While the investigating officer, the Medical College AC and the Public Prosecutor who participated in the meeting, upheld the police report the remaining members rejected its findings. Harsheena and the protest group lodged a complaint with the city police commissioner alleging manipulation in the medical board's report. Subsequently, the investigation team interviewed the four doctors who are board members as well as the board's chairman, DMO Dr K K Rajaram. The medical board member who appeared supportive of Kozhikode Medical College's stance will interview radiologist Dr B Salim the following day. Meanwhile, Harsheena's hunger strike has entered its 93rd day. Harsheena remarked that as the government's efforts to address the issue have been lacking, her hopes rest on the police investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.

Regarding the hunger strike during Onam, it is reported that on the feast day, Harsheena consumed porridge as part of the protest. Harsheena and Dinesh Perumanna, the strike committee chairpersons announced their decision to initiate a hunger strike during the Onam festival.

In response to the situation, Health Minister Veena George assured that the health department is committed to delivering justice to Harsheena. The health department conducted two investigations into Harsheena's complaint. Since both were deemed unreliable, the police took over the investigation. The police inquiry is currently underway, and if anyone is found guilty, they will not be spared. The minister emphasized that the department will take stringent action and there will be no attempts to overturn the case.
