THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state leadership has given the temporary charge of Thiruvananthapuram DCC president to senior leader N Shakthan. The new decision comes in the wake of Palode Ravi resigning from the post. The pressure for the resignation came in the wake of Palode Ravi's controversial phone conversation with a local leader emerging. The Congress has chosen the new DCC president as the local body elections are approaching.

N Shakthan is a senior Congress leader in Thiruvananthapuram and KPCC vice president. In this situation, the leadership decided to give this charge to N Shakthan after considering the leader from the district. Although Palode Ravi's resignation was accepted yesterday, the leadership had not taken a decision on who would be given the new charge. The issue of considering leaders outside the district was also discussed.

The Congress will come third in the panchayat elections. The party will perish with the local body elections. The Muslim faction will go to other parties and the CPM. A phone conversation has come out in which Palode Ravi is heard saying that Congress will become ‘useless baggage’ after the elections in Kerala. Palode Ravi also gave an explanation in this. Palode Ravi's explanation was that he gave the message to go united in the upcoming local elections and told the worker to be cautious in the constituencies.
