THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: No one have come forward with an application even after the government brought excise rules to start liquor outlets in IT parks. The government has not received a single application even after three months since the excise rules came into effect.

The Information Technology (IT) department is demanding a change in the existing rules. The condition is that only one license will be issued for a developer or IT park. The IT department is demanding a change in this. Moreover, the IT department is demanding that the present liquor outlet license for developers in IT parks be given to co-developers as well. The government's move was also thwarted by the fact that the park CEOs were not interested in directly obtaining liquor outlet licenses.
